Arnel Pineda Arnel Pineda, an Filipino musician/singer, rose to notoriety in the Philippines in the 1890s. He also became the new lead singer of the American rock band Journey in 2007. Arnel was aware of the gravity of his situation and decided to leave school to help ease his father's burden. Arnel was forced to spend nearly two years sleeping on the streets. He slept wherever he could such as in parks or on the narrow benches of homes. He traded glass bottles, newspapers, and scrap metals to recyclers. Arnel was also a part-time worker, doing odd jobs like cleaning scrap metal or docking ships. Arnel is married to Cherry Pineda. They were married in 2001. The couple has had two kids: a daughter (Thea Chenelle Pineda) and the son (Cherub). Arnel also has two older sons: Matthew and Angelo.
