Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on November
17, 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada Rachel Anne McAdams was the daughter of
Sandra Kay (Gale), Nurse and Lance Frederick McAdams, truck driver and
furniture moving. She is English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel started acting
as an teen. By the age 13 she was performing in Shakespearean productions at a
summer theater camps. Following graduation, Rachel received a BFA degree from
York University in Theater. Following her TV debut in Disney's The Famous Jett
Jackson in 1998, Rachel appeared in Canadian TV's Slings and Arrows 2003. The
comedy-drama follows the struggle of Shakespearean theater groups. She won a
Gemini Award for her performance in 2003. Her first big role was in Mean Girls
(2004) as Regina George instantly landed her in the top tier of Hollywood's
list of young actors. Following the film, she was cast alongside Ryan Gosling
in The Notebook (2004). It was a huge success at the box-office, and quickly
became the leading romantic drama for a new generation of moviegoers. McAdams
and Gosling were in love during filming and continued to be together until the
middle of 2007. McAdams followed with her next film, the comedy Wedding
Crashers (2006), the action thriller Red Eye (2004), and the Christmas drama The
Family Stone ((2005)). McAdams also explored independent cinema with Married
Life (2007) which premiered at Toronto Film Festival. It also included Pierce
Brosnan and Chris Cooper in addition to Patricia Clarkson. McAdams was also
seen in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play (2008), respectively. She also
starred in the film The Time Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy
Ritchie's worldwide hit Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the determined
producer of Morning Glory (2010). She also played the materialistic fiancee
Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to
romantic drama with The Vow (2012), which she co-starred with Channing Tatum.
McAdams also stars alongside Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012) as well as
Noomi Rapace as Passion (2012) in Brian De Palma’s thriller.
