Meg Ryan

Meg Ryan, blonde-haired and blue-eyed She was born Margaret Mary Emily Hyra in Fairfield Connecticut to Susan (Duggan) who was a former actor and English teacher, as well as Harry Hyra, a maths teacher. Ruthenian and Polish, Irish, German, and German of German descent. "Hyra" Hyra, her maternal grandmother's maiden, is Ruthenian. Meg graduated from Bethel high school in Bethel in June 1979. Meg relocated to New York City and studied journalism at New York University. Meg Ryan as her new name, began acting to earn extra cash while she was finishing her education. 1981 was her debut on the big screen. She played Candice Bergen's child in the film of George Cukor Rich and Famous (1981). She auditioned and was cast as Betsy in the day time soap as the World Turns (1956). The show had her in the show's cast from 1982 until 1984. Meg was also a part of the TV series One of the Boys (1982) and was removed. In 1984, she moved to Hollywood and was offered a job in the western television Series Wildside (1985). Meg played a minor role in Top Gun (1986), which led to her being cast in Steven Spielberg’s Innerspace (1987), where she played alongside Dennis Quaid. In D.O.A.'s remake, she again co-starred with Dennis Quaid. (1988), and got married on Saint Valentine's Day 1991. Meg played the lead role in When Harry Met Sally... (1989), which made the scene at the restaurant famous. Meg was twice nominated for the Golden Globe and BAFTA. In 1990, she co-starred with Tom Hanks in Joe Versus the Volcano (1990) and this time she played three roles as DeDe/Angelica/Patricia. In 1993, she appeared with Tom in Sleepless in Seattle (1993) and was nominated again for the Golden Globe. Meg chose to take on a different role than her peers in 1994 by playing the part of Meg as a drunken mother/wife in the film When a Man Loves a Woman (1994). Then, she was back to "cute" with both I.Q. (1994) as well as French Kiss (1995). In 1994, Meg won the Harvard Hasty Pudding Award as "Woman of the Year" and was also voted as being one of "The 50 most beautiful women in the world 1994" by People Magazine.
