Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin in Ireland on November 11, 1966. The model is as well as an Irish actress. Alison Doody first made a feature film debut as an actress and Bond model in A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she was in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody played Nazi sympathetic archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Donovan was Charlotte as Taffin in 1988 and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Approached by a photographer Doody took up modelling that eventually led to an industry-related career in modelling. Doody was adamantly against glamour and naked work, a rule that she extended to her acting profession. Once she caught the attention of the director of casting in the upcoming James Bond movie, she participated of A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 television film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in the movie of his dreams. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first leading role. It took place in 1988 opposite John Hurt, Dawn France along with Jennifer Saunders. The actress played Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. In the following film, she played her greatest role as Austrian Archaeologist and Nazisympathiser The doctor. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody is a co-star with three actors that have played James Bond. Doody costarred with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was in part inspired by the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. She later moved to Hollywood. It was her choice to succeed Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokeswoman. She went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his girlfriend and agent on the film Major League II. After nearly a decade from screen Doody was back in the acting world and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an awards ceremony scene. She was in the film together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version to King Solomon's Mines. Doody recorded a part in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. She later guest starred in the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of the horror film The Asphyx but the project later stalled. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). In November she was awarded the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and received a Star on the Walk of Fame in Almeria.
