Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, located in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix, is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet. Felix discovered early that she had a talent for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks, after her very first tryout. In 2003, Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. Felix became the world's youngest winner in the 200m at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third of each of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
