Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18, 1985, at Los Angeles. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister within Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix discovered early that she was gifted to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first attempt, she finished 2nd in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas prior to matriculating in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. Felix was also the youngest to win the 200 meter during the World Championships held in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, beating her the long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed within the top three in her various events in the Olympics that took place during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
